Dr. Danny Shouhed

Dr. Shouhed is a highly respected, board-certified surgeon specializing in minimally invasive weight loss procedures, with particular expertise in Robotic Bariatric, Gastrointestinal, and Complex General Surgery. He grew up in Los Angeles, California, and graduated with top honors from UCLA, earning a degree in Human Physiology.

Dr. Shouhed’s early achievements include a Phi Beta Kappa induction and an almost perfect MCAT score, which helped him secure a spot at UCSD School of Medicine with the highest merit-based scholarship. He completed his general surgery residency at Cedars Sinai, the second-ranked hospital in the country, where he served as Administrative Chief Resident. He then went on to complete a fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, the country’s first fellowship focusing on minimally invasive bariatric, foregut, and complex general surgery.

Currently, Dr. Shouhed serves as the Medical Director of the Bariatric Surgery and Metabolic Weight Loss Center at Providence Saint John’s Hospital.
